Washington, DC CCW Course
This is a 16-hour District of Columbia approved firearms safety training class that satisfies the training requirements to apply for the District of Columbia Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) Permit. This class is for residents and non-residents who wish to apply for the INITIAL CCW Permit in DC.
Class-Description: This 16-hour class is split into two 8-hour days. The first day of this class consists of classroom instruction only. The second day of this class consists of both classroom instruction and up to 2-hours of range time. During the classroom portion of this class, the following topics will be discussed: - Application Process - District Firearm Law - Home Firearm Safety - Handgun Mechanisms and Operations during the range portion of this class, there will be a "live-fire" component in which each student must demonstrate gun safety and proficiency with a minimum score of 70% accuracy. Classroom Instruction: - Application Requirements - Introduction and Review of Safe Gun Handling Rules - Pistol, Parts and Operation - Ammunition Knowledge and Selection - Cleaning and Maintenance - Holster Selection - District of Columbia Firearms Laws - Use of Deadly Force - Mindset Interactions with Law Enforcement - Live Fire Session - Demonstrate Safety Principles - Demonstrate Marksmanship Skills
CCW Permits may be issued to any adult (18 years of age or over) who meets the following criteria:

An applicant between 18 and 21 years of age may only be issued a CCW permit to possess a regulated firearm required for employment.

Has not been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor for which a sentence of imprisonment for more than one year has been imposed; or convicted of a criminal offense for which you could have been sentenced to more than 2 years incarceration.

Has not been convicted of a crime involving the possession, use, or distribution of a controlled dangerous substance;
-
Is not presently an alcoholic, addict, or habitual user of a controlled dangerous substance unless under legitimate medical direction;
-
Based on an investigation, has not exhibited a propensity for violence or instability that may reasonably render the person’s possession of a handgun a danger to the person or others;

Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL)
This is a MSP-approved firearms safety training class that satisfies the training requirements to apply for the Handgun Qualification License (HQL). This class is for NON-EXEMPT residents of Maryland who wish to apply for the Handgun Qualification License (HQL) in order to purchase a handgun. This class consists of 4-hours of classroom instruction and approximately 30-minutes of range time. During the classroom portion of this class, the following topics will be discussed: - Application Process - State Firearm Law(s) - Home Firearm Safety and Handgun Mechanisms and Operations During the range portion of this class, there will be a "live-fire" component in which each student must safely shoot one (1) round from a handgun. Upon successful completion of this class, each student will receive their Handgun Qualification License (HQL) training certificate.
MD Wear and Carry Permit Course
This is a 16-hour State of Maryland approved firearms safety training class that satisfies the training requirements to apply for the Maryland Concealed "Wear and Carry" Permit. As a bonus, this class also satisfies the training requirements to apply for the Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL). This class is for residents and non-residents who wish to apply for the INITIAL Concealed Carry Permit in Maryland. This class is also for Maryland Armed Security Officers that need the initial firearms training required by the Maryland State Police to carry a firearm in Maryland in connection with their employment.

ATTENTION: Before you may legally wear and carry a regulated firearm, you must possess and maintain on your person the MSP-issued Handgun Wear and Carry Permit.

Multi-State CCW/Wear and Carry Course Packages (3 Available)

The Multi-State Courses allows students the opportunity to earn their Wear & Carry/Concealed Carry Weapons licenses for three (3) of the four (4) states: Maryland, Florida, Arizona and Virginia.

All LifeLine Firearms DMV students who register for the Multi-State Wear & Carry/Concelead Carry Weapons license course are required to take the course for the State of Maryland. However, they may select from the remaining three (3) states by registering for one of the following packages.

Marksmanship Course
This course teaches basic marksmanship fundamentals and firearm safety using one-on-one in class instruction, along with time at the shooting range to enhance your skills. A customized shooting test will be administered at the beginning and the end of the class to evaluate and assess progression throughout course.
MD Requalification Course (HQL & Wear and Carry)
This course is for individuals who already possess a Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL) and/or a Maryland Wear & Carry license and wish to renew the license upon expiration.
Post Course Range Time

This is part two (2) of the Maryland Handgun Qualification License course: Range time will only be reserved for individuals who have previously completed the Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL) with LifeLine Firearms and Consulting DMV. Up to 10 students per date. Please call to schedule a date/time for range time
GunDay FunDay

This course is only offered on Saturdays
"GunDay FunDay" is a day at the gun range in which individuals will have the opportunity to engage in some fun, socialize and experience shooting with various types of guns.
This course can be completed as a one-on-one or group course. There will be 20 minutes of instruction and also 40 minutes of range time.

Home Protection Course

This class teaches the basic knowledge, skills and attitude essential for the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of yourself and family. This class also provides information on the law abiding individual's right to self-defense.
This is a 3-hour course for safe gun handling and is conducted in the classroom. After classroom course completion, student will have the opportunity to go to the practice firing a handgun at a local gun range.
